LIBRARY PROVIDES A WELCOMIMG LEARNING ENVIROMENT FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF
SUPPORTS THE SCHOOL’S AIMS AND CURRICULUM; ENCOURAGES THE LOVE OF READING AND
THE DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS’ INDEPENDENT LEARNING SKILLS. |

“A library is not a building stacked with books –It is a
repository and source of information and ideas, a place for learning and
enquiry, And for the generation of thought and the creation of new
knowledge.” –National Knowledge
Commission, 2005- |

Library PM SHRI KV Alwar is knowledge hub of the school and
facilitates creation of new knowledge. It was started in 1965 with 96 books.
Presently it is holding 19 thousand (approx.) titles covering various
subjects. It is subscribing Informative and knowledgeable magazines and
newspapers. |
|
The
Library is open every day as per KVS norms. The interior of the library is
designed in such a way that will attract the students and make them feel
comfortable. |
|
Class libraries are functioning for Classes I-V. Library
follows an open access system. The library is automated by using e-Granthalaya
EG 4.0 (ONLINE-Library management software). Every book is barcoded and
circulated by using barcoding system.

Library has launched its own library blog www.librarypmshrikvalwar.blogspot.com
Which includes NCERT Books, Journals,
CBSE curriculum, sample papers, previous years Question papers, e-Books,
e-magazines, on-line quizzes, GK updates and many more things. |
|
The Library is organsing various activities and Competition
like Day Celebration, Quiz Completion creative writing, book donation, My
little book, book talk/discussion,
library awards, book exhibition and library visit to inculcate reading habit
among the students. |
|
Library has established Career & Guidance Corner, Reader’s
Club, Teacher’s Corner, Creative Corner, Library Automation Corner, Book Hospital etc. |
|
The library provides a welcoming learning environment for the
students & teachers, supports the school’s aim and curriculum, encourage
the love of reading and the development of students independent learning
skills. |
Aims of the Library
1. Supporting and enhancing educational goals as outlined in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan’s mission and curriculum.
2. Effectively participate in the teaching-learning programs of the school.
3. Be the knowledge hub of the school and disseminate knowledge as widely as possible.
4. Facilitate optimal use of knowledge & library service for over all growth and development of the students.
5. To create and development self reading ability and interest among the student and staff.
6. To assist the students to become skilful and discriminating users of library.
7. To workout a programme in consultation with teachers for the effective use of all types of library material.
8. To encourage participate in co- curriculum activities.
9. To provide healthy environment for silent reading.
10. To provide training of How to use the library services.
11. To provide ethical values through books to mold the students into good citizens 12. To play a positive role in the progress and development of the nation.
13. To provide daily latest news about the world.
